Human Inference expands its strategic focus

14 November 2008

New initiatives lead to changes in management team

Human Inference is expanding its go-to-market strategy. The company is leveraging its leading European position in the Data Quality marketplace to start new initiatives in Master Data Management for Customer Data and Data Quality on Demand. Further internationalization and focus on the channel will open new markets in terms of size, geography and verticals.

To guarantee a proper execution of the strategic focus the management team is changed.

For personal reasons, Hugo Verwijs is stepping down as CEO of the company, which has appointed Peter Dekker, currently a member of the Non-Executive Board, as Chairman of the Executive Board, until a permanent replacement can be appointed.

Hugo Verwijs: 'These strategic changes require a more intensive commitment from the management that I, unfortunately, cannot make, due to health issues. I have therefore offered my position to allow the company to appoint a CEO with a longer term commitment. Peter Dekker has been on the Non-Executive Board of Human Inference since 2004 and is acquainted with our company and the Data Quality space. I am convinced he is very well equipped to lead the company through the upcoming changes.'

The new strategic initiatives are a natural extension of the previous focus of Human Inference, which already has a number of very large customers where MDM for Customer Data solutions have been successfully implemented. The leading data quality technology that has been implemented at hundreds of international companies will very soon be available as either hosted or web services. This will enable smaller companies to leverage this technology.

Peter Dekker, who has over 20 years of senior management experience at companies such as TPG/Cendris, Continental Bakeries, De Boer Tenten, Clientlogic, Packard Bell NEC, Campina and Buhrmann: 'I am honoured to lead Human Inference into new markets in these challenging economic times. I very much respect Hugo for his personal decision and I am glad he will remain available to the company in the coming months to manage the M&A initiatives and as an official external representative of Human Inference, for example at the Data Quality Summit being held today in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.'

When a new CEO is appointed, Mr. Verwijs will continue his position on the Non Executive Board and offer his guidance to the company he has led since January 2002.
